The Genesis of Agess Chess
The Seed in my heart.
Long ago, back in my childhood, I was introduced to the
world of Chinese Chess(華文棋). As time passed, starting around
1965, I developed a strong aversion to gambling, especially when I witnessed
Chinese Chess being used for gambling purposes such
as "Pai Gow (牌九)"
or "Dark Chess (暗棋)".
I found that “Western Chess”
and “Eastern/Chinese Chess” corresponded to each other in many ways. However, in the early 1970s, a new chapter unfolded in my
life when I stumbled upon Western Chess. Surprisingly, This
discovery sparked an idea in my mind - why not merge the worlds of Eastern and
Western chess together?
With this idea in mind, I delved into the origins of various forms of all kind chess,
scouring through numerous books and documents in search of answers.
However, to my considerable disappointment, the more I
searched, the more perplexed I became; various claims and viewpoints conflicted
with each other, leaving me stranded at a crossroads in a fog of confusion,
unable to distinguish
between East and West.
It left me disheartened, and I
reluctantly abandoned my quest for answers.
It wasn't until the tranquil night of the Mid-Autumn
Festival in 2015 that everything changed.
In a dreamlike state, the seed that
had been dormant in my heart for over 40 years suddenly sprouted; Agess Chess
was born.

The Rulers of Agess Chess Play.
1.1 |
The
best way to Win in this game is “CHECKMATE”
the opponent's Master, and when aiming at the opponent's Master, say “CHECK!”
in a soft voice. |
1.2 |
When
it is the turn to move, whoever is in the situation of “Unable or Refuse Move
Legally” will LOSE, and the game will end immediately. |
1.3 |
If
the opponent Declares to Resign, the game ends and the current player WINS
immediately. |
2.1 |
If
the attacking player (with a single or multiple pieces)
performs “Repetitive Checks” or “Irrationally Chasing”
for five(5) times, h/she will be judged as LOSING THE GAME. |
2.2 |
Both
sides (single or multiple pieces) should use the “Repetitive
Blocking” or “Nullifying Swapping” technique to chase
each other for a maximum of seven(7) times, known as “Resonance Draw”. |
2.3 |
If ‘Checks then Rests’ occurs seven(7)
times, it is called “Forced
Draw”. |
3.1 |
Regrets
can be avoided by using a Chess Clock System; both players should have the
same amount of free time to play chess freely; for example, the countdown
time per move is limited to 100 seconds. |
3.2 |
The player who completes a move should
immediately stop their own “Chess Clock” (and start the opponent's clock
automatically) to signal their opponent to move. Any player who does not stop
their own “Chess Clock” is still considered to be in the process of thinking,
unless the player explicitly declares that him/herself Resign and end the
game. |
